Summary

The hospice CNA is a member of the interdisciplinary team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, providing care according to the plan of care, and documentation. This position is a dual role, in addition to providing personal compassionate care to our patients, you will also provide coordination of services to support the clinical team.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Attends to patient requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task or unclear on instructions, reports to the Hospice RN case manager immediately to clarify assignment. Safely uses equipment at all times, ensuring patient safety. Gives personal care including baths, showers, foot and nail care, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as assigned. Assists in dressing and undressing patients as assigned. Qualifications
  • Active and valid CNA certification;
  • Ability to work well within a team environment;
  • Commitment to improving quality of life;
  • Able to work independently;
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance;
  • CPR certification.
