Every Patient is Special

This simple statement sums up the foundational philosophy behind LifeChoice Hospice & Palliative Care services. No matter what the patient’s age, condition, diagnosis, or situation, they deserve the best possible comfort and care available in Wheeling, IL. Cancer and palliative care patients incorporate every possible demographic of human life, and each one has their own journey, needs, and struggles. When every patient is treated as a special and unique individual, the quality of care increases, and the outcome for everyone involved improving.

Unique Needs Deserve Special Care

LifeChoice Hospice & Palliative Care gathers together compassionate professionals who understand the complexities of the end-of-life journey. Every person goes through changes that affect their physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual selves. In the midst of all of these issues, it is also important to note that every person approaches or deals with each of these things in a different way. There are no single solutions for every patient.

Every person deserves respect, care, guidance, and comfort as they navigate what their illness or health situation means to them. Although the goal of peace remains the same, how that is achieved differs. That is what we mean when we say every patient is special. A customized approach created by dedicated professionals who have the knowledge and experience to make things as easy as possible.

Special Services for Those Who Need Them

The multifaceted experience unique to every patient deserves the utmost attention and respect from a host of qualified professionals. Not every person will get the same services from the same LifeChoice team members. Some need careful attention from the medical director, who works directly with the patient’s physician to care for physical needs going forward. The hospice RN and CNAs that work under them provide different levels of medical and nursing care as needed.

To best serve the non-physical needs of every special patient, we also have a chaplain to help with spiritual guidance and answers to sometimes tough questions and a host of volunteers who support patients and their loved ones in these difficult times.

Every patient is individual, and every family member or close friend who helps to care for them through these difficult times also deserves answers, information, and comfort. LifeChoice in Wheeling, IL, works with personal care teams or individuals to help them, too. This includes emotional and spiritual assistance, information to understand what they should expect, assistance with coordinating other services, respite care when they simply need a break, and bereavement counseling at the end of the journey.

When a patient has to face difficult medical issues or the natural progression of time, they deserve the support, comfort, and respect of a dedicated team that sees them as an individual with unique needs and care requirements. LifeChoice Hospice & Palliative Care is dedicated to making sure every patient gets the customized care they need to experience peace at the end of their journey.
